Camden Park Now From Argentina

Origin Wine Relaunches Camden Park From Argentina

Camden Park, the premium wine brand featuring a distinctive bull on the label, is being re-launched by Origin Wine with wine sourced from Argentina, rather than Australia.

Following the acquisition of the brand by Origin Wine, from Orbital wines in January, the brand will be re-launched at the forthcoming Wines of Argentina tasting, in two new styles, Pinot Grigio and Bonarda Shiraz, both priced at £6.99. The wines will be sourced from Origin’s existing winery in Argentina, Mendoza Vineyards. Origin/Mendoza Vineyards can be found on table 81.

CEO of Origin Wine, Bernard Fontannaz, commented ‘We are excited by this new launch, and are confident that we can establish a credible, premium brand from Argentina. Argentina, is still a sleeping giant, and given the current supply and pricing issues in Australia, offers fantastic value and a great ratio between price and quality. The new Pinot Grigio taps in to the current trend for this grape variety, but delivers a far more intense and characterful style than many European styles.

Given the label, and the natural association of the brand with ‘meat’, the association with Argentina, and its great reputation for beef, strengthens the brand identity.  The wines will be re-launched in Threshers in October, retailing at £7.99.
